Knocked-Out Teeth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A knocked-out tooth, also known as an avulsed tooth, is one of the most serious dental emergencies an athlete can experience. This injury often occurs during contact sports such as football, basketball, hockey, and soccer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a permanent tooth is knocked out, time is critical. The tooth should be picked up by the crown (the visible part of the tooth), not the root. If possible, gently rinse it with water and attempt to place it back into the socket. If that isn&#8217;t possible, store the tooth in milk or a tooth-preservation solution and seek emergency dental care immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prompt treatment greatly increases the likelihood that the tooth can be successfully saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Chipped or Fractured Teeth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every dental injury results in a tooth being completely knocked out.
