Read on to learn about the ways that swimming pools affect oral health and what you can do to keep your smile healthy throughout the summer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Does Swimming Affect Your Teeth?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a few ways that swimming can put your smile at risk:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Swimmer\u2019s calculus:<\/strong> When you spend a lot of time in the pool, your teeth are being exposed to chlorinated water, therefore increasing your likelihood for developing swimmer\u2019s calculus. Chlorine can deposit a residue on your teeth and cause them to turn brown or yellow over time. If you spend more than six hours a week in a chlorinated pool, this is something you should be on the lookout for.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tooth sensitivity:<\/strong> Be sure to check the chlorine levels to see that they are in the correct range.
